For hospital escort or for wheel chair occupants whose safety may be enhanced by limiting brake control to only the attendant, Jerry Ford Company offers the Attendant Brake System™. This system puts control of our wheelchair brakes in the hands of the attendant unless the attendant brake is "locked off" allowing the chair to be operated by the occupant. Standard wheelchair brakes only work when people remember to use them. The automatic attendant brake system provides consistent safety and security. Our exclusive patented gravity released lock-off system automatically releases when attendant depresses the palm levers.

Our Safe-T-Chairs® are comprised of one or more precision tooled Jerry Ford brake systems pre-mounted on a quality Everest & Jennings 16", 18" or 20" wheelchair. The 18" wheelchair has a weight capacity of 250 lbs and the 20" chair has a weight capacity of 300 lbs.

All chairs can be set in standard or hemi-height, if you do not specify your chair will be set in standard height. It is best to stipulate the height and weight of the person(s) that will be using the chair(s) when ordering. This will help us to set the chair(s) appropriately.
